Hamburg, NY — Oaxacan Dream N put the field asleep in Buffalo Raceway’s $12,500 main event for the distaff pacers by notching a half length victory over Rightfully Mine in a season’s best 1:56.1 over the fast track on Wednesday afternoon (April 23).
After a fourth place finish on April 12 in the Open Pace for the ladies at Northfield Park, Oaxacan Dream N returned to her home base in Western New York. She responded well to her familiar surroundings and cruised to the gate to wire win.

Under the guidance of driver David McNeight III, Oaxacan Dream N ($9.60) was able to navigate to the front end, putting up solid fractions of :28.0, :57.4 and 1:26.3. She enjoyed a comfortable 2-1/2 length margin turning for home but saw her lead slowly dwindle to just a half at the finish line as Rightfully Mine (Kyle Swift) made a valiant attempt to collar Oaxacan Dream N. Do Me Better (Joseph Chindano Jr.) took third place honors.
Owned by Vogel & Wags Stable LLC and trained by Maria Rice, the 9-year-old Oaxacan Dream N (Big Jim-Verde Lima) has now won three times in 11 starts on the season. The victory upped her 2025 winnings to $31,330 and to $243,479 lifetime.
In the $11,000 pacing event for the gals, Mary Kat ($7.60) clawed her way to the lead in the shadow of the finish line and pinned a heart-breaking nose loss on Major Battle in 1:58.0.
Major Battle (McNeight III) enjoyed the front end journey with fractions of :30.1, :59.3 and 1:29.3. But the pocket sitting Mary Kat (Chindano Jr.) with a never say die attitude was able to punch her way to the victory late, thanks to a :28.3 last quarter mile. Rocknroll Shelli (Kevin Cummings collected the third place check.
Owned by the Lucky Label Stable LLC and conditioned by Taylor Fritz, it was the fifth trip to the winner’s circle in 14 tries on the campaign for the 8-year-old Mary Kat (Bettor’s Delight-Nanny Withafanny). The decision jumped her bankroll to $28,270 on the year and to $324,398 in her career.
Chindano Jr., Drew Monti, Jim Morrill Jr. and Denny Bucceri each had driving doubles on the program.
Racing will resume on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with an 11-race program slated.
