Grove City, OH – Hitting the board in 16 of 18 starts and earning over $470,000, Odds On Chesapeake is the 2025 Ohio 3-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year.

The Downbytheseaside filly out of Macaroon won nine races in 2025 to go with six second-place finishes and one third. Trained by Virgil Morgan Jr., she banked $477,800 this year and recorded a lifetime mark of 1:49.3 in the Jugette Elimination at Delaware on Sept. 17. Bred by Odds On Nourrir and owned by Dana Parham Sr., Odds On Chesapeake was victorious in four of the five legs of the Ohio Sires Stakes and won the $100,000 Nadia Lobell and $71,000 Ohio State Fair Stakes at Eldorado Scioto Downs. She was the runner-up in the $280,000 Jugette Final at Delaware and the $125,000 Courageous Lady at MGM Northfield Park.
“I wasn’t expecting this, but I’m not surprised either. She had a heck of a year,” Parham Sr. said of Odds On Chesapeake earning divisional recognition this year. “I’m really happy for Virgil Morgan and his whole team. They work so hard, and a lot of her success is because of them.”
Odds On Chesapeake has a record of 13-8-1 with $635,500 in earnings in 28 lifetime starts.
She will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 10 at the Renaissance Columbus-Westerville in Westerville, OH.
The 2025 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the awards banquet.
