Grove City, Ohio – The 2025 Breeders Crown is scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Oct. 24-25) at Woodbine Mohawk Park in Ontario, Canada, and Ohio will be well represented among the 12 divisions.
The four divisions of 2-year-olds will race on Friday followed by the four divisions of 3-year-olds along with the Open pace and trot and Open Mare pace and trot races on Saturday. First-race post time for both days is 6:35 p.m.
2-Year-Olds
Ohio-breds Brandon Blvd, Seaside Shuffle, and Setyoursightshigh highlight the entries with Ohio connections looking to score a Breeders Crown victory in one of the four divisions for freshmen this year.

Brandon Blvd opened as the 5-2 second choice in the freshman colt pace division behind 8-5 favorite Beau Jangles. The Downbytheseaside colt has hit the board in all nine starts this year, recording seven wins and two seconds along with $338,909 in earnings. He paced to a 1:48.4 new track and Canadian record in last week’s Breeders Crown Eliminations and drew post two for Friday’s final. The entries in this division also include Melillo and Frantic Hanover. Co-bred and co-owned by Jason Melillo, of Powell, Ohio, Melillo has hit the board in 10 of 11 starts in 2025 with three victories and earnings of $215,847. Frantic Hanover is co-owned by Knox Services, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and has seven wins and two seconds with $506,159 in earnings in 10 seasonal starts.
Downbytheseaside filly Seaside Shuffle was bred by William Walters and Joseph McLead, both of Delaware, Ohio, and is co-owned by Knox Services and RAS Racing, of Powell, Ohio. She will leave from post eight in the freshman filly pace division. The 2025 Ohio Sires Stakes 2-year-old filly pace champion, Seaside Shuffle has hit the board in nine of 10 starts on the year with four victories and $321,702 in earnings. Other horses with Ohio connections in this division include 1-5 morning line favorite Loua Dipa along with Bettor Be A Star, Fragment, I’m A Lou Lou, and Ubrute. Ronnie Wrenn Jr., a staple in the Northfield Park driving colony, has been tabbed to be in the sulky with Loua Dipa, who has eight wins and $393,204 in earnings in 11 starts this year. Bettor Be A Star was co-bred by Country Club Acres, of Findlay, Ohio, and has two victories and earnings of $65,378 in nine seasonal starts. Co-bred by Michael Robinson, of Lewis Center, Ohio, Fragment has earned $514,158 on the year, scoring eight wins and two seconds in 13 starts. I’m A Lou Lou is co-owned by Knox Services and has three wins in nine starts to go with $219,023 in earnings this season. Ubrute, who is co-owned by Hatfield Stables, of Columbus, Ohio, has two victories and earnings of $313,393 in eight starts in 2025.
Setyoursightshigh, the 2025 OSS 2-year-old filly trot champion, is an Ohio-bred by In Range. She opened as the 7-2 second choice behind 5-2 favorite Nezuko Kamado S and will leave from post nine. Setyoursightshigh has hit the board in all 10 seasonal starts with seven wins and three seconds, earning $521,079. Atlantic Summer, driven by Wrenn Jr., and Sparks, who is co-owned by Joe Sbrocco, of Brecksville, Ohio, are also in this division. Atlantic Summer has two wins in eight starts and has bankrolled $308,397 this season. Sparks also has two wins in eight starts on the year, earning $106,530.
3-Year-Olds
Among the horses with Ohio connections in the sophomore divisions are Ohio-breds Sippinonsearoc and Skywalker Sea.

Sippinonsearoc will leave from post six in the sophomore colt pace division. Co-bred by Alesha Binkley, of Lebanon, Ohio, and co-owned by RAS Racing and Knox Services, the Downbytheseaside colt was Ohio’s 2-Year-Old Colt Pacer of the Year in 2024. He has won six of 14 starts this season and has 12 career victories with $1,061,818 in earnings in 25 lifetime starts. Louprint, driven by Wrenn Jr., is the 6-5 morning line favorite in the division. The 2025 Little Brown Jug winner has 10 victories in 11 starts this year and is coming off a second-place finish in a Breeders Crown Elimination. He has 17 wins, three seconds, and one third with earnings of $1,757,791 in 21 lifetime starts.
Skywalker Sea will leave from post six in the sophomore filly pace division. The Downbytheseaside filly was bred by Black Magic Racing and is owned by Greg Luther Racing, both of Blacklick, Ohio. Ohio-based driver Austin Hanners will be in the sulky. Skywalker Sea enters with seven wins and $328,718 in earnings in 28 career starts. Other Ohio-connected horses in the division include Miki And Minnie and Rose. Robert Mondillo is co-breeder and co-owner of Miki And Minnie, the 6-5 morning line favorite. She posted a track- and Canadian-equaling mile record of 1:48.2 in her Breeders Crown Elimination race and has hit the board in all 24 lifetime starts with 17 victories and $1,656,336 in earnings. Wrenn Jr. will drive Rose, who was co-bred by Melillo and has seven career wins and earnings of $478,453 in 20 career starts.
The sophomore filly trot division contains four horses with Ohio connections in Miss Belmar, Royal Mission, Walspea, and Yo Tillie. Co-bred by GBW Breeding Farms, of Findlay, Ohio, Yo Tillie opened as the 7-5 favorite. She has 10 wins and one second in 11 seasonal starts and has hit the board in 21 of 23 lifetime starts with 18 victories and $954,242. Sbrocco co-owns Miss Belmar, who has three career wins and $288,333 in earnings. Royal Mission was co-bred by Jonas Schlabach, of Apple Creek, Ohio, and has four career victories with $465,329 in earnings in 22 starts. Co-owned by M3 Racing Stable, of Berlin, Ohio, Walspea has seven lifetime wins and has bankrolled $278,770 in 20 starts.
Ohio connections Gimpanzee Dancer, Happy Jack B, and Mr Mouton are in the sophomore colt trot division. Gimpanzee Dancer is owned in part by Chris Beaver and Carolina Acosta, both of Radnor, Ohio. The Beaver trainee has five wins and earnings of $279,347 in 24 career starts. Happy Jack B is co-owned by Sbrocco and has four victories and $526,057 in earnings in 20 lifetime starts. Bred by Kevin Greenfield, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and co-owned by Stolz Geiger, of Columbus, Ohio, Mr Mouton has hit the board in eight of nine seasonal starts with four wins as part of five career victories in 10 starts with earnings of $199,153.
Opens
The Open divisions feature Ohio connections Hillexotic, Southwind Coors, Oakwood Ardan Ir, M-M’s Dream, and Always B Naughty. Hillexotic and Southwind Coors are in the Open Trot. Wrenn Jr. will drive Southwind Coors, a 5-year-old gelding with 18 career wins and $596,188 in earnings in 67 starts. Hillexotic is owned by Greg Luther Racing and will be driven by Hanners for trainer Todd Luther, of Commercial Point, Ohio. The 8-year-old gelding has 34 wins and $1,552,861 in earnings in 103 lifetime starts. That owner-driver-trainer combo is also behind Always B Naughty, an entry in the Open Mare Pace. The 5-year-old has 17 lifetime wins and $693,734 in earnings in 60 starts. In the Open Mare Trot, 6-year-old M-M’s Dream, co-owned by Hillside Stables, of Dundee, Ohio, enters with 36 career victories and a bankroll of $2,187,917 in 67 starts. Oakwood Ardan Ir, a 6-year-old gelding owned by Royal Wire Products, of North Royalton, Ohio, is in the Open Pace. He has a combined 22 wins and $374,192 in earnings in his domestic and international careers.
