Washington Court House, OH — The Buckeye Fair Racing Consortium has announced its scholarship recipients for 2025.
Alexa Nisonger and Mitchell Bean have both received scholarships for their hard work and dedication to county fair harness racing in the Ohio Colt Racing Association, the Home Talent Colt Stakes Circuit, and the Southern Valley Colt Circuit.
Each year, these three circuits pool $5 from each bonus fair staked to by the horsepeople and award a scholarship. Ann and Ray Lufkin carefully review the entries and make the awards based on how youth view harness racing and what their ideas are for the future of county fair harness racing. This year, the Lufkins augmented the scholarship pool so that the total awarded was $6,000 for 2025.
The Buckeye Fair Racing Consortium thanks Ann and Ray Lufkin for their continued support of the scholarship and extends congratulations to Nisonger at Otterbein University and Bean at the University of Kentucky.
