Delaware, OH — Ohio Sire Stakes champion Haley Louise is the early favorite for Sunday’s (September 18) $29,000 Ohio Breeders Championship 2-year-old filly pace, the opening feature of the Delaware County Fair’s Grand Circuit week of racing. First race post time Sunday will be 12 noon.

The Tim Fouts Memorial amateur driving championship pace and the Billings amateur trot are also among 18 races scheduled for the first day of racing.

Haley Louise won the $75,000 Ohio Sire Stakes final at Scioto Downs in 1:58.3 by 1-3/4 lengths over Airie Feelin and Friskie Beauty. The victory was Haley Louise’s second in 12 starts for owner-trainer Larry Deyermand. Kurt Sugg, who drove Haley Louise in the OSS final, will again be in the sulky.

Airie Feelin closed from eighth at the half to finish second to Haley Louise. Airie Feelin is owned by Charles Johnson, trained by Chancie Love and driven by Brett Miller. Airie Feelin has finished first, second or third 10 times this year with earnings of $30,404.

Friskie Beauty, with earnings of $49,020 and a record of 1:57.1h, is owned by Thurman Downing, trained by Martin Wollam and will be driven by Chip Noble.

There will be no racing Monday afternoon with action resuming at 12 p.m. on Tuesday (September 20). The 66th Little Brown Jug will be raced Thursday (September 22).
