On The Glass and driver Yannick Gingras assumed the lead on the backstretch and went on to win the $248,000 Lady Liberty Final.

The 4-year-old daughter of Art Major–Abbey Won (The Panderosa) won in 1:49, matching her life-best.

After Yellow Diamond (Andy Miller) and Not Enough (Tim Tetrick) knocked heads through early splits of :26.3 and :53.2, the winners rushed up to take the lead at the 1:21.4 three-quarters.

After the chasers fanned wide in the stretch they failed to menace the winner; Tug River Princess (John Campbell) finished as the runner-up and Dreamfair Eternal (Randall Waples) came on to finish third.

“She’s been really good all year,” Gingras said in the winner’s circle. “I told Ronny (trainer Ron Burke) ‘if I can put her on the front I don’t think she can be caught.’

“To be honest, I knew I was a winner at the five-eighths (pole). I just tried to take it easy around the final turn,” Gingras concluded.

On The Glass won her 11th in 23 trips this year, and the $124,000 she won on Saturday pushed her bankroll for 2010 to $343,300. She was bred by John and Linda Glassford of Ontario and California.
