Ray Simser, 85, dies

Columbus, OH — Ray Simser, 85, a longtime Standardbred trainer/driver, has died.

Mr. Simser raced mostly at Saratoga and Vernon in the United States and in Montreal in Canada.

He was born in Cornwall, Ontario, and served in the Canadian army in World War II.

Mr. Simser was inducted into the Saratoga Hall of Fame in 2004.

He is survived by his sons, Perry (Susan) and Jim; and grandaughters, Amanda and Milissa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan.

Services will be private.
