Toronto, ON — Grand River Raceway has now completed the draw for the OSS 2-year-old colt pace Gold elimination, which was delayed yesterday due to an appeal.
Their entire card of racing for Monday (September 19) is available on the Standardbred Canada website.
OSS 3-year-old colt pace Gold elimination at Grand River not required
Eight 3-year-old colt pacers were entered Friday morning (September 16) for the OSS Gold elimination scheduled to be contested on Wednesday (September 21) at Grand River Raceway.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elimination will be canceled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the Gold elimination for 3-year-old colt pacers, scheduled for September 21 at Grand River Raceway, is canceled. The C$40,000 purse for the Gold elimination will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold final purse for this event of C$170,000.
The Gold final will be held on Wednesday (September 28) as scheduled and the post positions will be drawn on Wednesday (September 21), when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the canceled elimination will be distributed equally between the eight horses that entered the event.
The field for the final (in alphabetical order): Bullet Speed, Camaes Fellow, Cam B Zipper, Dr Dew, Live And Learn, Machal Jackson, Prodigal Seelster, and Watermelonwine.
