Washington, PA — The Pennsylvania County Fair Racing Circuit is gearing up for its 2010 season, which will get underway on Saturday, June 26 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Meadville, Pa.

The circuit will feature 20 stops for the season, 15 fairs and five “two-day” Sire Stake events. For the first time, one site, the Dayton Fairgrounds, will host racing on three separate occasions — a two-day event July 17-18, another two-day Sire Stake meet on July 31 and August 1, and the traditional fair dates, August 18-19.

The season will conclude at the Bloomsburg Fair from September 27-30, and horses that earn the most Sire Stake points will be eligible for the Pennsylvania Fair Finals, to be held at The Meadows on October 9.

In addition to Sire Stake events, the circuit will feature Quaker Stakes at 14 venues. The Quaker Stakes are for PA-sired and/or PA-owned horses. The deadline for stake payments on the Quakers is coming up on March 15, and a nomination form can be found on the PA Fair Horsemen’s Web site, www.pafairharness.com.

The Fair Horsemen’s Web site also contains the full list of fair dates for 2010.
