PA Fair meets concludes in Dayton

Dayton, PA — The final day of a two-day Sire Stake meet at the Dayton, Pa. fairgrounds featured sophomores in action for 13 heats.

Cummingsandgoings, an SJ’s Caviar filly, recorded the fastest of her six career victories to lead off the day, trotting in 2:07.3 for trainer/driver Randy Neal, who co-owns with his father, Cliff.

In the second division of the filly trot, RT Play Girl picked up her first win of the season, covering the mile in 2:13.1 for trainer/driver Bobby Rougeaux. Owned by the Brocious Racing Stable, RT Play Girl is a daughter of RT Giant.

In the third grouping, Caviar’s Dancer scored in 2:08.2 with David Brickell at the lines. Trainer Bob Krenitsky co-owns with his wife, Barb. For Caviar’s Dancer, it was her fourth win in 12 starts this season.

Yet another daughter of SJ’s Caviar won the final division, as Caviar And Kisses trotted in 2:06.4 for the victory. Roger Hammer trains and drove for the Dunn Stable.

Three groups of sophomore colt trotters were up next, and Mr McRail won from the pocket in the first division in 2:06.3. The Donerail gelding, owned by Jack and Sharon Claypoole, was driven by Timmy Offutt for trainer Sherry Libengood.

In the second division, Trevor R scored for trainer Cindy Truitt and driver Bryce Truitt in 2:06.3. The Truitts also bred and own the Tagliabue gelding.

The third division was won by RT Picaadilly in wire-to-wire fashion. The Ebanks gelding trotted in 2:09.2, giving the Brocious Stable and Rougeaux their second win of the game.

Stately’s Revenge was a 2:01.3 winner.

Three colt pacing splits were next, and a patient Eric Neal picked up the winning drive in the first, guiding McDickerson (McArdle) to a come-from-behind win in 2:02.3. Randy and Cliff Neal own the winner, and Randy Neal trains.

In the second division, Hammer picked up his second win of the day, as Cories Artist scored in 2:02. Vicki Fair owns the Real Artist gelding.

The final colt pace was won by Stately’s Revenge in 2:01.3 for the Brickell/Krenitsky combination. Stately’s Revenge is a gelding by The Panderosa.

Three filly pacing events ended the day, and My Gal Mykenna won the first division in 2:03.3. The Real Artist filly, owned by Hammer and Nevin Gilbert, has now won five of eight starts on the season.

Hammer returned with a victory in the next race, guiding his own Anxiety Hanover (The Panderosa) to a 2:06.4 win.

In the final race of the day, Kalua Killean was a winner in 2:04.1 for owner/trainer Chris Oluvic. Eddie McNeight picked up the winning drive behind the Allamerican Ingot filly.

The circuit now moves on to the Clearfield County Fairgrounds for four days of action beginning Monday at 12 Noon.
