Meadville, PA — Racing continued at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Meadville, Pa., on Tuesday (August 23) with seven stake events.
Two $6,100 divisions of the PA Sire Stakes freshman colt pace led off the day, and Danger Hi Joltage picked up the win in the opener, covering the mile in 2:04.3. Steve Schoeffel drove for owner/trainer Don Lark. Danger Hi Joltage is a son of Village Jolt-Southseas Hanover. The second group was led across the wire by Nucular Enemy, a son of Nuclear Breeze-My Gal Phyl. Roger Hammer owns, trains and reined the colt. The winning time was 2:03.1.
Three divisions of the PASS freshman filly pace were up next, and Hammer made it two straight as Shootoutthelights (Dragon Again-Armbro Pomme) paced home in 2:05.1 for the win. In the second group, Real Dixie scored in 2:05.2 for the Brocious Racing Stable. Bobby Rougeaux trains and drove the Real Artist-Cordelia Blue Chip filly. In the final filly pace, Scott’s Terror was a winner in 2:05.3. Mike Gillock trains and co-owns with Tom Haughton, while Schoeffel picked up the winning drive behind the Western Terror-Areba’s Last filly.
In the first division of the Quaker Stakes for pacers, Old Man Charlie was a winner in 2:10.3 for owner/driver Cory Kreiser. The second division resulted in a dead heat as Kingoftheroad, driven by Timmy Offutt, and DVC Itsanattitude, driven by David Brickell, could not be separated by the photo finish camera. The time of the mile was 2:07.4.
