The John Simpson Sr. Memorial Stakes concluded their 2025 run at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Monday (Oct. 27), with two-year-old fillies featured: two $48,500 divisions of the Davidia Hanover for trotters and two $46.700 divisions of the Razzle Hanover for pacers. All eight Simpson stakes are named after a champion horse that the Hall of Fame had a large hand in during his Hall of Fame career.

Despite a chill in the air, big miles were still produced in the top trots at Plainridge Park on Monday (Oct. 27) afternoon. 

Driver Heath Campbell celebrated his 54th birthday in grand fashion at Bangor Raceway on Sunday (Oct. 26), winning four races over his home-based course, while friends and family roared their enthusiastic approval.

Scott Keppler snatched the win in the closing strides of the lone $10,000 division for the American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Saturday (Oct. 25) while Michael Shults and Anthony Verruso found the winner’s circle in the pair of $7,500 AHDC pace divisions the next day (Sunday, Oct. 26) at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Frank Chick’s Caviart Daisy thundered past front stepping Caviart Amore Mio at the half and cruised to a Virginia Breeder’s victory in the $91,025 2-Year-Old Filly Pace finale — in record time for that division.

For the second consecutive week, Adarryl Gates has won the United States Harness Driving Club (USHDC) feature at Cumberland Run.
