Hambletonian Society partners with Hawk Sports Management on premier harness racing events
The Hambletonian Society, which owns and administers 164 of harness racing’s most prestigious events, has partnered with Don Hawk’s Hawk Sports Management firm to pursue corporate partnerships, brand activations and sponsorships for upcoming events. The agreement covers the $7 million Breeders Crown championship series in 2026 and 2027 and the 2027 Hambletonian Stakes at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Indiana.
Chapter Geo J sets new Monticello track record
Monticello, NY – The final curtain call of the 2026 New York Sire Stakes Season was held at Monticello Raceway on Monday August 24 and closed out with a bang when Chapter Geo J set a track record of 1:55.1. While the fields may have lacked quantity, it was made up in quality with Read The Room and Chapter Geo J trotting identical miles of 1:55.1, Chapter Geo J eclipsed the former track record by a full second.

After no one hit the Pick-5 wager at Batavia Downs on Saturday (Aug. 22), there is a $1,127 carryover pool for that wager in the first race on Wednesday (Aug. 26) and the management of Batavia Downs has announced that the pool will be guaranteed at $3,500 through the U.S. Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering program.
