David Ingraham continued his march toward career driving win 8,000 on Sunday (Oct. 19), scoring three wins on the Bangor Raceway afternoon program, each measured by the determined and masterful margin of a mere neck, and elevating his lifetime cache of top tallies to 7,992.
Keppler, Calabrese score in AHDC trots; Hernandez wins AHDC pace
Scott Keppler and John Calabrese bagged victories in the American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) trots at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Saturday (Oct. 18) while Geovany Hernandez landed a win in the lone dash for the AHDC pace at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (Oct. 19) in another busy weekend for the club.
Caviart Daisy dazzles in Virginia Breeders at Shenandoah
Frank Chick’s dazzling 2-year-old filly Caviart Daisy continued an impressive freshman campaign Sunday (Oct. 19) with a dominating nine-length win in a $8,000 Virginia Breeders’ elimination pace at Shenandoah Downs.
Fearful Intent controls throttle in Philly feature
The gray Fear The Dragon gelding Fearful Intent, a 30+% winner both this year and lifetime, got a fairly easy half on the lead then dashed home to win the $13,000 featured handicap fast-class pace in 1:51.2 at Harrah’s Philadelphia Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon.
Mankat, Gates take USHDC feature at Corbin
The United States Harness Driving Club (USHDC) paid tribute to the Corbin Community Backpack Program on Sunday (Oct. 19), at Kentucky’s Cumberland Run and it was the eight-year-old son of Somebeacjsomewhere, Mankato, handled by Adarryl Gates, winning in 1:56.2.
Jimble Kimble wins Race for the Cure at Saratoga
Jimble Kimble and driver Leon Bailey were relentless in the Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon featured Race For The Cure at Saratoga Casino Hotel, winning the pace in a career best time for the five-year-old Huntsville gelding.
Breeders Crown elims highlight Grand Circuit
From one event last weekend to 22 events this weekend we headed into the fall weather and year end events at Hoosier Park on Friday with the Pegasus events. North of the border on Friday were the Grade 1 eliminations for the Breeders’ Crown 2-year olds at Woodbine at Mohawk Park followed with the 3-year old Breeders’ Crown eliminations on Saturday night.
NAADA makes $5,000 donations to charities
The North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) made a pair of charitable donations over the weekend totaling $5,000 between New Vocations and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
‘Nutcrakcer’ shells field in Big M feature
Sonofanutcracker benefited from an expert steer from a driver with plenty on his resume to take the featured $14,500 high-end conditioned pace at The Meadowlands Saturday (Oct. 18) night.
