Swingtown leads Ohio State Fair winners
Six divisions of Ohio State Fair races went postward Friday (Aug. 2) at Eldorado Scioto Downs. After two track records were set for older horses, Swingtown and Chris Page set a national season’s record for 2-year-old pacing colts on a five-eighths-mile track, winning his $87,500 Buckeye State Pace in 1:50.4.
Weather wreaks havoc at Big M
A 40-minute delay before the start of the program due to intense thunderstorms, another 40-minute delay due to an inquiry involving several horses, and, finally, a power outage that knocked out a portion of the lights as a result of all of the rain that fell just as the 10th race was heading to the gate, made for a tough Friday night (Aug. 2) at The Meadowlands.
Sheridan wins pair of Hambletonian Amateur Drivers events
