Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, July 14, 2011
I finally hit one. Saturday night I spent $8.00, using two singles and playing $2 tickets, but as it turned out I could have hit it for $2.00 because I had it cold. On the night I picked 10 winners on top on my USTA Meadowlands picks which appear on the site on the handicapping page. I think it was the most winners I’ve ever picked on top on one card. The Pick-4 paid $333.20. It took me 24 Pick-4s to finally hit one and I’m still $108.80 in the red but it felt good to get it. The payoff was generous because the horses paid $5.20, $6.60, $4.80, and $5.60 and one of them was Big Jim, and he looked like a lock.
$1 play: 23/23/410/2 = $8
Analysis:
Race 6: (2) The Lindy Reserve is gradually improving and Antonacci is a top trotting trainer. Tonight he reaches for a catch driver, Tim Tetrick. I’ll also use (3) Way Back When, who has some ability when he can stay flat; trainer Jim Campbell puts hopples on him tonight.
Race 7: This is a tough race and there are a lot of ways you could go. I’m using two horses. (2) Adrenaline had a brutal trip in last at Chester but I like that he got speed tightened to a fast half and now adds lasix. (3) Kamwood Warrior N comes off a game win at Ocean Downs and some of these Delaware shippers for this barn have raced well here this meet. The switch to Gingras also helps and this horse took his mark over this track.
Race 8: Another tough race here without a solid favorite. (4) Orange Bigi has only raced four times and she is improving. (10) Papas Moni made three moves to break her maiden two back then Frankie got too aggressive with him last time and he gave way after cutting a hot pace; Tetrick is back and if this one had a better post I’d put him on top.
Race 9: You may be able to cover this race using the 1-2-3 but I want to play a smaller ticket so I’m going to single (2) Rockjaws who seems to be headed in the right direction for the Burke barn.
