Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on June 17, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Friday, June 17, 2011 After 13 nights of Pick-4 selections at the Meadowlands I’m down $290 and haven’t hit a Pick-4. Last night produced a five figure payoff when a $78 horse won from post 10. I singled two horses and they both broke, although Who I Am, a Yonkers shipper, was completely empty before he broke in the stretch. The longshot, Artctic Blue, was a horse that I could never have had. He was a deep closer that was 0 for 17 this year and he had post 10. Back to the drawing board. $2 play: 35/57/24/5 = $16 Analysis: Race 6: (5) Fiesta Camcun showed speed from post nine and finished well; seems like a solid choice here but I also used (3) Barks Like A Dog who made a nice brush to the lead but ran out of steam in last but could continue to improve in her third start off the layoff. Race 7: (7) Glidenfordollars is an improving colt in this 3-year-old trot. (5) Wind And A Prayer just missed in his local debut. Race 8: (4) Manofmanymissions has the potential to be a great one if he can overcome his breaking problem, but this may not be an easy spot as he races against older horses. I also used classy mare (2) Southwind Wasabi who ships in for the Burke barn and gets Yannick Gingras. Race 9: (5) Mcflirty was sharp and full of pace winning first time off the Allard claim and remains at the same level; these types usually repeat so this is my single.
