Columbus, OH — Paul Randall Corey, 69, died Oct. 18, 2024, at his home in Canonsburg, Pa.
Mr. Corey was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Salem, Ohio, to Inez and the late Robert Sr.
He excelled at basketball while in high school, and there were many pick-up games after he graduated at the South side gym in Columbiana. He was an avid golfer, loved being home watching sports and cooking out.
Mr. Corey was involved in numerous business ventures before going full time as a Standardbred trainer. One of his major accomplishments was taking the horse Marty’s Charm from nothing to the open pacer ranks at The Meadows. He kept his stable small, but his horses were always considered viable competitors in every race.
He was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Mr. Corey is survived by his wife, Shawnie; daughter, Kiane Henderson; son, Todd (Amber); siblings, Robert Jr. (BettyJane), Catherine (Chip) McConnville, and Tom (Cindy); and sister-in-law, Cheryl, widow of his brother Jay.
He had many fond memories of his antics with his nieces and nephews. He loved to play jokes on them and his friends.
Private services were held at the Grandview Cemetery in Salem, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 2024.
