PHRA to broadcast races from the Erie County (PA) Fair

Wattsburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association will be live streaming races Monday (Aug. 30) and Tuesday (Aug. 31) from the Erie County Fair in Wattsburg, Pa. Post time on both days is 12 p.m.

A link to view both race cards will be posted to the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association Facebook page prior to each program. The races can also be seen on the PHRA’s YouTube site.

The Wattsburg track record of 2:04 on the trot, co-held by Smokey Crown, Major Matter, and New Heaven, and the oval’s pacing mark of 2:00.1 shared by Venier Hanover and Midway Island, are definitely in jeopardy given the talent shown by this season’s fair competitors.

Communicators Hall of Fame member Jerry Connors will be the announcer at the Erie County Fair. According to Mr. Connors his announcing abilities were definitely not one of the factors that led to his selection into the Communicators Hall.
