Pocono sets post time for 2010 Breeders Crown

Wilkes-Barre, PA — The 2010 Breeders Crown post time will be 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, it was announced by Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

This year’s Breeders Crown will be the richest in the history of the sport since Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be the first racetrack to host all 12 events on a single day. More than $7 million in purses, including elimination races, will be at stake.

The Breeders Crown is a championship series of harness races for trotters and pacers, divided by the traditional categories of age, gender and gait. The races showcase the stars of the Standardbred sport.

In the past the giants of the sport, horses like Nihilator, Fancy Crown, Mack Lobell, Beach Towel, Artsplace, CR Kay Suzie, Moni Maker, Gallo Blue Chip, Rocknroll Hanover and Somebeachsomewhere have been featured in the Breeders Crown.

There will be elimination races for the Breeders Crown the previous week.

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will have open seating for some 4,000 fans on this historic day for the Northeastern Pennsylvania racetrack.

On this day, one lucky fan will be going home with a 2010 red Corvette convertible with a sticker price of more than $70,000, courtesy of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and Valley Chevrolet of Wilkes-Barre.

Patrons can receive an entry form for the car by attending the live or simulcast races daily.
