Powered By Mach goes a lifetime best at Plainridge

Plainville, MA — With the Patriots playing out of town on Sunday afternoon (Nov.7), Plainridge Park was the only show in town and Powered By Mach took center stage going a personal best effort in winning the $12,500 distaff feature pace at The Ridge.

Hilaria (Mike Stevenson) grabbed an early lead but Powered By Mach (Jay Randall) rolled up the outside passing the :26.2 quarter and grabbed control shortly after. From there Randall the mare got to the half in :54.4 and three-quarters in 1:22.4, extending the lead at each station. By the top of the stretch Powered By Mach was on top by three and in the lane she simply ran away with the race, winning by 7-1/4 lengths in a new lifetime mark of 1:51.2.

Fox Racing owns Powered By Mach ($7.60) who now has $63,873 earned this year on the strength of five wins. Jimmy Nickerson trains the winner.

A Nickerson trainee also won the co-featured 10th race when Aintnohollabackgrl (Kevin Switzer Jr.) made a drop in class pay off big as she too left her competition behind by 6-1/2 lengths in the stretch to win in 1:53.3 and also take a new lifetime mark. Aintnohollabackgrl ($6.20) is owned by Marc Reynolds.

Aintnohollabackgrl capped off a driving triple for Switzer who also won with Easy Three (1:54.3, $5.30) and Meetmeatthedance (1:56.4, $15.20).

When racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Monday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m., there is a large carryover pool of $15,778 in the Wicked Hi-5 Pentafecta wager available in the sixth race.
