Chester, PA — A total of 356 entries jammed the box for a powerhouse opening weekend at Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack, with strong fields slated to contest the $32,000 features on both the Friday and Sunday cards.

Friday’s Open Trot could very well shape up as a battle of the sexes between millionaires Corleone Kosmos and Buck I St Pat, both of which are making their 2010 debuts. Corleone Kosmos, who has 19 career wins to his name and earnings on the brink of $2 million, comes off a pair of solid qualifying efforts at the Meadowlands, sprinting home in :27 to complete a 1:54.1 mile in the most recent. The 8-year-old boasts a lifetime mark of 1:51.2, and will be driven by Hall of Famer John Campbell for new conditioner Jeffrey Webster.

He’ll square off against top trotting mare Buck I St Pat, who took the 2008 Maxie Lee Memorial in a track and world record 1:52.2 as one of her 40 career wins. She also comes off a pair of qualifiers at the Meadowlands, finishing in the runner-up position to Corleone Kosmos on both occasions. Tim Tetrick drives the 7-year-old distaffer for trainer Ron Burke.

Despite the presence of these two millionaires, plenty of speed in the race from Chosen Voyageur and Lets Get Serious N could set up nicely for 32-time winner Lolique, who comes off a sharp first-over win at Dover in 1:54.3 in a $31,000 Open Handicap event. John Wagner trains and drives the 7-year-old gelding, recognized for his strong late kick.

Sunday’s Open Pace boasts a strong field of eight, including Presidential winner Blatantly Good, who proved a mighty presence last fall in the top ranks at tracks all along the eastern seaboard. Richie Silverman handles the driving duties for trainer Mark Kesmodel.

Delivered From Zin and Gottaservesomebody, both mid-level claimers in recent memory, have worked their way to the Open ranks for trainers Dylan Davis and Marvin Callahan, respectively, and both have seen recent success against their tough week-in, week-out competition.

Delivered From Zin shows eight wins in ten starts this season and a mark of 1:50.3, while Gottaservesomebody has hit the exacta in five of 11 starts while consistently facing Open and Preferred company at Dover. Mystery Chase can well loom large, performing well at the Meadows and Pocono through the Chester offseason, and Booze Cruzin has shown immediate results for new trainer Moe LaFountaine.

Post time for the Friday and Sunday programs is 12:45 p.m. (EDT).
