Prix d’Amerique winner Davidson du Pont retired

The winner of the 2022 Prix d’Amerique, Davidson du Pont, has been retired.

Davidson du Point has not raced since the Prix de Paris in late February 2022 and has had a problem with a tendon. He was back in training, but as the problem arose again, the decision was made to retire the now 10-year-old trotter.

Davidson du Pont, who was trained and campaigned by Jean Michel Bazire and owned and bred by his father-in-law, Jean-Yves Rayon, raced 69 times, had 17 wins, and took a mark of 1:51.3. Davidson du Pont had lifetime earnings of 2,274,710 Euro.

He won five Group 1-races: Prix d’Amerique 2022, Prix de France 2020, Criterium des 5 ans 2018, Prix de l’Etoile 2018, and Prix de Selection 2018.

Just as many French top trotters, Davidson du Pont has been at stud and his oldest crop was born in 2020. In February he had his first winner, Kanelle Star. Davidson du Pont is standing at stud for 300 Euro + 5,000 Euro.
