Saturday afternoon (Feb. 24) it was announced that this year’s winner of the Prix d’Amerique, the French trotter Idao de Tillard, trained by Thierry Duvaldestin, has accepted an invitation to race in this year’s Elitlopp at Solvalla.

This will be the first time since 2017 that the winner of the Prix d’Amerique will race in the Elitlopp the same year.

“It feels fantastic to be able to welcome the Prix d’Amerique winner. He has strength and speed beyond the usual and having Idao de Tillard to race in the Elitlopp at Solvalla will be something very special,” said Anders Malmrot, director of racing at Solvalla, in a press release.

The Elitlopp will be raced on Sunday (May 26) with two eliminations and a final over the mile. The purse for the winner of the final is 5,000,000 SEK — or approximately $485,000.
