Paris — On Sunday afternoon (Dec. 7), the Prix du Bourbonnais will be raced at the Vincennes track in Paris. This is the second qualifying race for the Prix d’Amérique.
Again, there are four spots up for grabs, but three of the 18 starting horses have already secured their places: Josh Power with Sebastian Ernault, Borups Victory with Daniel Wäjersten, and J’aime le Foot with Antoine L’Hereté, who finished first, third and fourth, respectively, in the Prix de Bretagne, the first qualifier.
The Prix du Bourbonnais is run over a distance of 2,850 meters (1-3/4 miles) with a standing start. The total prize money is 120,000 euros.
The favorite is the French trotter Jabalpour with Gabriele Gelormini, who is coming off a win in the major Italian race, the Gran Premio delle Nazioni, in Milan.
There is one American horse in the race: Crown, sired by Chapter Seven, trained by Daniel Redén, and driven by François Lagadeuc.
The race takes place at 9:15 a.m. (EST) and can be watched live on www.letrot.com.
