Hawkinsville, GA – The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Family Fun Day at the Hawkinsville Harness Horse Training Center in Hawkinsville, Ga. on Saturday (March 7) from noon to 4 p.m.  The Hawkinsville Harness Training Center is at 290 Abbeville Highway.

The entire family is invited to come out and learn about the sport of harness racing while enjoying a free cookout and barn tours. Barn demonstrations will be given to show the difference between trotters and pacers as well as how to harness and groom a horse.

The track blacksmith will demonstrate how the shoes are custom made for each horse as well as how they are put on the individual horses.

Trainers will be offering rides around the track to give an up close and personal thrill of sitting behind a Standardbred harness race horse.
