Nichols, NY — Purple Lord (Jim Pantaleano) captured the featured $13,000 trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 26).
Purple Lord ($5.50) was first to the quarter in :27.2. Duly Resolved (Tyler Miller) took the lead with a lap to go and led to the half in :56.3. Oliver The Great (Kyle DiBenedetto) made a move first-up heading down the backstretch. Duly Resolved led to three-quarters in 1:24.3.
As they reached the stretch, Purple Lord slipped through on the inside and slid by to win in 1:54.4. Duly Resolved had to settle for second. Sevenshotsobourbon (Tom Merton) finished third.

Purple Lord is a 5-year-old gelding by Tactical Landing. He is owned by John Spindler, Joel Warner, Mike Paulson and trainer Mike Deters. It was his fifth win this season and his 14th career victory.
Dan Rawlings had a driving hat trick on the card.
