Vernon, NY – Quarrel (Chris Long) takes the $8,500 featured Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov. 8).

Quarrel ($2.90) went straight to the front and led the first quarter in :28.3. She slowed things down with a :30.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.3. She started to widen her lead going around the last turn and led to three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher One Surreal Deal (Leon Bailey) came first-up from third and gave everything she had but Quarrel got the jump and won in 1:56.0. Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) finished third.
Quarrel is 5-year-old mare by Always B Miki. She is owned by Karma Racing Inc. and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her fourth win this season. She now owns 15 career victories.
Rob Harmon had a training double. Chris Long, Jimmy Whittemore, and Greg Merton had driving doubles.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Nov. 9) starting at 3:05 p.m.
