Vernon, NY – Quarrel captured the $7,500 featured fillies & mares’ pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Oct. 3).

Bell Of Lazarus (Leon Bailey) led to the quarter in :27. Two Star Magic (Aaron Byron) then took over and had the lead to the half in :55.4. Bell Of Lazarus reclaimed the lead and was first to three quarters in 1:24.2.
Third-place finisher Bell Of Lazarus was joined by Quarrel ($4.14) as they reached the stretch. They both traded blows all the way down the lane. Second-place finisher The Hunt Is On (Frank Affrunti) came flying late and slipped in between horses but fell just short by a head as Quarrel won in 1:53.
Quarrel is a 6-year-old mare by Always B Miki. She is owned by Karma Racing and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her fourth win of the season. She now has 20 career victories.
Brad Irvine and Frank Affrunti had driving hat tricks. Rob Harmon and Laura Shock had training doubles.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Oct. 4) featuring the Big Apple eliminations with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
