Toatsmygoats (Jason Ryan) coasted to a 1:55.4 triumph in an $11,500 Minnesota-sired race for 2-year-old pacers.

Silence Son (driven by Nick Roland), a recent claim by trainer George Reider, cleared favored Wilamar Valley (Tim Maier) just past the quarter-mile marker reached in :27.3, then headed the field the rest of the way, holding off runner-up Franky Provolone (Kim Pluta) by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.3.

The clocking equaled Silence Son’s lifetime best which established a track record for 4-year-old geldings at Running Aces exactly a year ago. Flameon (Lemoyne Svendsen) finished third in the $9,000 race.

Earlier on the program, Toatsmygoats (Ryan) sped to his third straight victory and fifth in six lifetime starts in an $11,500 pace for Minnesota-sired 2-year-old pacers. The son of Relentless Yankee is owned by the Van Otterloo Stables and trained by David Flinn.

He looks every bit the part of a likely odds-on favorite when the Running Aces meet comes to an end on Saturday (Aug. 30) featuring eight $20,000 state championship races for 2- and 3-year-olds and a trio of $10,000 finals for older Minnesota-sired horses.

Racing resumes Saturday night with a 7 p.m. (CDT) post time.

Keystone Wallace (Yankee Glide) dominated his competitors in the $6,500 featured race on Wednesday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The Dan Hennessey-trained trotter won in the same class last month but was a beaten favorite in his prior start before going off as the race’s 5-2 second choice on Wednesday. Reinsman Wally Hennessey moved Keystone Wallace first over at the half and overpowered the race’s favorite before running off to a double digit length lead and stopping the timer in 1:59.1 over the sloppy Spa oval. Longshot The Duke Of Conway (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) closed to finish second while Stirling Accord (Yankee Glide) earned the show spot.
