Believe This Bob wins third straight in Dover feature

Dover, DE — Believe This Bob continued her standout start of the 2012 season by winning her third in a row to capture the $18,000 4- and 5-year-old feature pace at Dover Downs on Sunday.

Allan Davis has driven Believe This Bob in all seven starts this season with three wins and three seconds this year. Mary Ann Larrimore owns and trains the 4-year-old altered son of former Delaware standout Beach Romeo from her mare Believe This Gal, a top racemare during her career. A 4-5 favorite, Believe This Bob lived up to his role by notching a lifetime mark of 1:52.1. We The People (George Dennis) overcame starting from outside post eight to finish second. Windemere Royal (Corey Callahan) was the show finisher.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
The Assassinator (Richess Hanover) prevailed in the Sunday afternoon feature at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The Melissa Beckwith trainee sat patiently in third throughout the mile in the $10,500 conditioned pace for fillies and mares before closing sharply up the inside to pull off the upset in 1:55. The 11-1 shot was one of two winners from the Beckwith barn on Sunday as stablemate Mighty Cullen N also prevailed. For driver Mark Beckwith, The Assassinator and Mighty Cullen N accounted for two of his three winners on the matinee program. He also drove claiming pacer Memorable Place to a wire-to-wire victory on the beautiful springlike afternoon at the Spa. Beckwith currently sits in third place in the driving standings just a couple of weeks into the 2012 racing season.
