Cash Poor captured the Winners Over Trot on Sunday at Saratoga.

The 8-year-old trotter drew post position four in the $11,000 Winners Over Trot and was situated into the pocket spot in the early going by driver Jim Devaux. No Recess (Jordan Derue), who blasted out to the early lead in a sizzling first quarter clocked in :26.4, held strong until mid-stretch when he was reeled in by Cash Poor who took full advantage of the 1-1/16th mile distance in the feature. No Recess held on for second while Stirling Cadet (Frank Coppola Jr.) earned the show spot.

It was the third win of the season already at the Spa for Cash Poor and the second victory in the Winners Over for the Harry Reddick Jr.-trained trotter. Cash Poor, who is owned by the Traylor Racing Stable of Ballston Spa, N.Y., returned $8.10 to win and led an exacta and triple that paid $68.50 and $170.50, respectively. The time for the 1-1/16th mile trot was 2:04.2 on a windy and cold April afternoon in the Spa City.

Live racing resumes on Thursday with a first post time of 4 p.m.

Rosecroft Raceway
Lanco Express wore down pacesetter Rhapsody Rose to win the $10,000 winners over feature for mares on Sunday night at Rosecroft Raceway. P
at Berry sent Rhapsody Rose right off the gate to the front and conducted fractions of :26.4, :56.1, and 1:24.3 while Brian Burton sent Lanco Express first up and eventually won by just under a length. Madge’s Lil Fortune (Russell Foster) skimmed the pylons for third. Lanco Express is owned by Peter Paul Venturini and trainer Brian Malone. Defending dash champion Frank Milby broke out of a 4-64 slump to start the meet and a broken seat in his bike to win three races on the night. Sean Bier and Jonathan Roberts each won twice.
