Do Me Honor triumphs in Meadows feature
Washington, PA — Do Me Honor settled into the pocket, then blew by the leader in the lane to capture Monday’s $24,800 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Do Me Honor got away first but yielded to Novascotia Hanover, who was hard-used from post nine to make the front. When the field turned for home, Do Me Honor responded to Aaron Merriman’s urging and brushed clear to score in 1:52.1. Tremor Hanover raced well from post 10 to be second, 1-3/4 lengths back, while Nice Party shot the Lightning Lane for show.
Bill Bercury owns and trains Do Me Honor, a 6-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right who was won 18 races over the past two seasons and $476,608 in her career.
Dave Palone drove four winners on the 15-race card.
