Mymomsablizzard continues her domination in Saratoga Open

Saratoga Springs, NY — Mymomsablizzard has been on a historic roll at Saratoga Casino and Raceway and continued her domination of the Open Trot on Friday night.

Mymomsablizzard was a 1:56.4 winner in the Open Trot.

The Chris Marino trainee again wired the featured field with leading driver Billy Dobson at the controls. Mymomsablizzard (CR Excalibur) went right down the road in the $21,000 Open, stopping the timer in 1:56.4 for her fourth consecutive win in the local Open.

Last week’s Open winner Pembroke Prayer (Kim Crawford) was the runner-up this week while Credit Blues (Dan Cappello, Jr.) earned the show spot.

Mymomsablizzard is the likely favorite to be named the track’s Trotter of the Year and perhaps the Horse of the Year at the conclusion of the racing season in two weeks.

The Meadows
All Heart Gal proved that her win last week in softer company was no fluke as she reeled off a front-end victory at a juicy 12-1 in Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows. A top earner at 2 and 3, All Heart Gal slumped thereafter and lost her first 25 races this year. But she captured a Nov. 21 conditioned event on the lead and employed the same strategy Friday for Mike Wilder, scoring in 1:52.3. The pocket-sitting Tremor Hanover rallied in the Lightning Lane but fell a nose short, with Do Me Honor third. Luis Porfilio trains the 5-year-old daughter of Allamerican Ingot-Nine Of Hearts, who now boasts $450,304 in career earnings, and owns with Angela Porfilio. Tony Hall drove four winners and Dave Palone three on the 14-race card.

Batavia Downs
It was the penultimate Friday night of the 2012 summer-fall meet at Batavia Downs Casino. Headlining the 12-race program were a pair of $7,400 races, one for trotters and one for pacers. On the trotting side, Howard Ouriel’s Duke of Wellington took over the lead past three-quarters and went on to a 2-1/4 length score in 1:59.4 to notch his fifth win of the season. Dan Noble, who has now won 16 races in three racing nights at the Downs, was at the controls for conditioner Don Rothfuss. Duke of Wellington ($22.60), a 7-year-old altered son of Canadian sire Duke Of York, raised his lifetime bankroll to $119,037. One race later the best distaff pacers in Western New York hit the racetrack and it was one of the most exciting finishes of the season. Hasty Pulse with Dan Noble in the bike took command at the top of the stretch after a first over trip and appeared to be well on her way, but it was Miss Too Punch who would not be denied and closed from last to take home the lion’s share of the purse money. With Jamie Dunlap in the sulky for trainer Tracy Root, Miss Two Punch ($17.00) unleashed a wicked late burst to score a narrow neck victory in 1:57.4. The daughter of Allamerican Ingot made her fourth winner’s circle visit in 2012 and increased her lifetime earnings to $87,482.

Lebanon Raceway
Favored Kilowatts Fantasy took the Friday night featured pace at Lebanon Raceway for driver Jack Dailey in 1:58.1, holding off Connie’s Marti. Pacesetting Keene Supreme finished third in the field of nine. At the start, driver Mark Winters, Sr. shot Keene Supreme to the front from post position five while Dailey tucked Kilowatts Fantasy in the two hole right on the leader’s back. Their positions remained unchanged until Dailey tried to mount an attack midway down the backstretch the second time. That effort was rebuffed, but Kilowatts Fantasy clung to the wheel of Keene Supreme around the last turn and into the stretch. Once in the stretch, Dailey urged his pacer past the tiring leader but then had to fend off a furious rush on the outside by Connie’s Marti. KIilowatts Fantasy prevailed by a half-length. It was the seventh win in 34 starts for Kilowatt’s Fantasy, a 5-year-old gelding. He now has earned more than $26,000 in 2012 for owner Jeffrey A. Arvin. The winner is trained by Sam Coven and paid $4.80 for a $2 winning bet. Kilowatt’s Fantasy had started November off with a win at Lebanon and was second in his last start, giving him two wins and a second in three November races over the half-mile oval.
