Photo finish camera determines winner of Dover feature
Dover, DE — The photo finish camera was busy separating race winner Pointed Victory from early leader Ge’s Corey at the wire in the $13,000 3, 4&5 year-old pace on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Dover Downs.
Ross Wolfenden urged Joe Colosi’s Pointed Victory, a 3-year-old Royal Mattjesty–Topless Hall gelding to the wire in 1:52.2 beating Ge’s Corey (Corey Callahan) by a short nose in the $13,000 feature pace. We Salute You (Brad Hanners) was a close up third.
On the undercard Tim Curtin drove owner-trainer Wayne King’s RB’s Girl to victory in 1:55, her second straight win in a $10,500 3, 4&5-year-old filly and mare pace. Long Gone (Corey Callahan) was a head back in second with Le Bec-Pan (George Dennis) third.

Cal-Expo
Winners-over trotters, racing for a purse of $4,500, were featured At Cal-Expo on Thursday night, on which Putoneonnetformom repeated. Continuing to be rated in a :29.3 third-quarter, a confident driver, James Kennedy, and his charge reached the three-quarter mile pole, timed in 1:28.4, but with Franks Best now only 3-1/4 lengths back and gaining. “I still thought I was sitting pretty good really, because I had basically had a no-use up to the three-quarters and he still felt real good,” Kennedy said. Getting his earplugs popped and getting wheel-disc urging into the lane, the 7-year-old went on, but Franks Best kept gaining, thus forcing Kennedy to go to work on his trotter. Not being denied while all-out, Putoneonnetformom won ($4.00) by one-half length. Bred and owned by Jeff, Gerald and Diana Cimini, and well trained by Rocky Stidham, the gelding stopped the timer at 1:57.2, a lifetime best. Franks Best was a solid second, and the pocket sitting Giles L S Hanover raced fine while third, another 1-3/4 lengths farther back. Live racing will continue at Cal-Expo on Friday, starting at 6 p.m., pacific.
