Yonkers, NY — Yonkers Raceway’s Friday night $37,000 co-featured Open Handicaps–Pace for the ladies and a Trot for all duly authorized–were won by a pointed-to-the-passing lane Royal Cee Cee N (Brian Sears, $2.60) a two-move Zooming (Jason Bartlett, $7.20).

Roal Cee Cee N defeated Ginger And Fred in 1:53.2 to win the Open Handicap Pace on Saturday night at Yonkers Raceway.

Late to the dance in her last two starts, Royal Cee Cee N was in this game at the outset. Making the first lead from post position No. 5, the 3-10 choice gave it up to last week’s winner, Rock N Load (Dan Dube) right at the :27.1 opening quarter-mile. After a cheap, 29-second next interval (:56.1 half), Marty Party (Jason Bartlett) moved from fourth, with Ginger And Fred (George Brennan) in behind.

It was Rock N Load leading in the out of the 1:24.3, up a length entering the lane. The people’s choice was all dressed up in her after-Halloween best, waiting for her close-up. She ducked inside, went past the lead and getting the best of a wide Ginger And Fred by a head 1:53.2.

Third went to Rock N Load, with Mary Party and Dawn’s Legacy (Jordan Stratton) grabbing the minor dough.

For Royal Cee Cee N, a 7-year-old Down Under daughter of Christian Cullen owned and trained by Mark Harder, it was her eighth win in 25 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $12.60, with the triple returning $56.50,

The weekly trotting feature saw Zooming, from post No. 4 (in one notch after an inside defection), make a second move to work around Lorenzo Dream (Brent Holland). Zooming made the lead before a :27.3 opening two furlongs, then rated a comfy :57.4 half. It was 3-2 choice DW’s NY Yank (Brennan), who had left into a three-hole, moving again.

Meanwhile, Zooming maintained the lead through the 1:26 three-quarters, widening to 2-1/2 lengths turning for home. He prevailed by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:54.1. Lorenzo held second with a flattening DW’s NY Yank, with Whata Winner (Steve Smith) and Super Manning (Dube) earning the small change. Returning millionaire Little Brown Fox (Sears) broke early as the second choice.

For third choice Zooming, a 5-year-old Classic Photo gelding trained by Amber Buter for co-owners Stephen Oldford, Oldford Farms and Tyler Buter, he’s now 10-for-32 this season. The exacta paid $59, the triple returned $281 and the superfecta paid $1,227.

The Meadows
Pouncing on the tiring leaders, Isabella’s Magic circled from worst to first and pulled off a 24-1 shocker in Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows. Isabella’s Magic was ninth at the quarter and still trailed by 4-1/2 lengths at the three-quarters. But aided by a hot pace and multiple lead changes, the 6-year-old daughter of Blissful Hall-Follow The Magic swung wide for Greg Grismore, gobbled up ground in the lane and scored in 1:52.1. Hearts N Flowers was second, 1/2 length back, with Sissy Bar third. Ray Simms trains Isabella’s Magic, who vaulted over $200,000 in career earnings, for William Spotti, Jr. Mike Wilder drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Batavia Downs
It was bombs away in the $8,500 featured Open Trot on Friday night at Batavia Down when 19-1 outsider Headingforaruckus closed from far back to pull the upset. With Dave McNeight III in the sulky, Headingforaruckus ($40.80) was unleashed from fifth at the half and rallied strongly down the middle of the racetrack to post the three-quarter length score in 1:58.4. Second place finisher Mythical Hall was head strong coming to the half and set quick early fractions of :28-:57.4 but came back to the field at the top stretch, yet dug in gamely to hold the place spot. Third place finisher Glorious Winner gapped badly racing to the half but out-finished even-money favorite BZ Glide in deep stretch to complete the trifecta that paid $1,004. Headingforaruckus, a 6-year-old altered son of Dream Vacation, raised his seasonal earnings to $31,237. This was 12th career score. He’s owned by Dennis Robert Beaver and trained by Jim Graham.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
Mr Web Page (Muscles Yankee) went last to first to secure a win in the local Open for the second time in as many tries at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The Roman Lopez-trained 5-year-old won his local debut two weeks ago and was back in town following a second place finish at Vernon Downs in his previous race. Stephane Bouchard sat patiently in last with Mr Web Page while the fractions were fast in the early going. Moving three-wide around the final turn, Mr Web Page swooped the group and drew away late to win in 1:58.3 to move his record in $15,000 Spa Opens to two-for-two. Lightly raced in 2013, Mr Web Page has now finished first or second in seven of his last eight starts. Slugfest (Phil Fluet) was the Open’s runner-up for the second consecutive Friday night while Victom AS (Harry Landy) closed for third. Mr Web Page returned a solid $9.60 to win.
