Scootin Around swept the field to take a life’s mark of 1:54 with driver David Ingraham.

With David Ingraham in the bike, the 5-year-old Scoot Outa Reach-C The Glory gelding sat last for the first three-quarters of the $12,500 claiming pace. Bully McCool N with George Napolitano, Jr. cut the first fraction in :27.1 and then gave way to ML’s Boy partnered by Andy Santeramo and they proceeded to cut out the middle stage quarter times of :56.3 and 1:25.1.

Going into the final turn, Ingraham tipped Scootin Around three wide from last and by early in the stretch he was past the field. Bully McCool N got out of the pocket to take second and ML’s Boy lasted for third.

Scootin Around is trained by Mark Friedman for Polo Stables of Boca Raton, Fla. It was a lifetime best effort for Scootin Around in 1:54 as half of the winners on the mid-week, ten race card earned new speed marks.

Ingraham would share top driver honors on the program with George Napolitano, Jr. as each reined in a pair of winners.

A great trip puts Hawaiian Alibi in the winner’s circle at Buffalo

Hamburg, NY — Hawaiian Alibi, a 5-year-old His Alibi gelding out of the In The Pocket mare Flask N, used a perfect pocket trip, then the passing lane, en route to his second win in a row in 2:00.4 for owner James Dunn.

Trained and driven by reinsman Ron Beback, Jr., Hawaiian Alibi ($11.80) used a :30.2 last quarter-mile on Wednesday at Buffalo Raceway to beat second place finishers Four Starz Invite and driver Trent Tharps by one length. Early pacesetter Shrewsbury Falcon (John Cummings, Jr.) came in third.
