Tryst, Odds On Moinet take TLC opening round

East Rutherford, NJ — The next round of winter series stakes action kicked off with the first leg of the Tender Loving Care on Wednesday night (Feb. 3) at Meadowlands Racetrack.

Tryst was a 1:54.3 winner for Ron Pierce in their Tender Loving Care division.

Tryst remained perfect in her brief career in capturing the first of the $12,500 divisions. Driven by Ron Pierce, Tryst took command at the half and held off Rev Me Up for a half-length victory in 1:54.3. Cee Q held her ground for third. Tryst paid $3.80 as she extended her streak to three wins.

Originally a $5,000 yearling, Tryst was purchased by trainer-owner Bob Rice from Steve Jones on May 28, 2009. The filly is by The Panderosa out of Society Ann, a career winner of $300,000. She is a full sister to Debupante ($125,000).

Odds On Moinet got up in the final strides to win the second Tender Loving Care split in rein to George Brennan. She paced a career best 1:55.4 in her first start of the season. Dovetail and Camsamericangirl were the second and third-place finishers.

Robin Schadt trains the daughter of Real Artist-Aparte for Odds On Racing. A $32,000 yearling purchase at Harrisburg, she is a full sister to Nvincbl Artist ($400,000) and Real Celebreation ($200,000).

Pick 6 carryover reaches $19,000

The Pick 6 carryover is $19,253 heading into the Thursday night card at Meadowlands Racetrack.

A $1 base wager, the Pick 6 is available nightly on races four through nine. A 10-day carryover produced a record $1.3 million pool and $193,384 payoff on April 4, 2009. Five winning tickets took down the pool that night.
