Stagecoach Holdup was a 1:54.1 winner for Tim Curtin.

Driver Tim Curtin and trainer Eli Scott continued as a recent winning team when Stagecoach Holdup recorded his second straight victory in the first $14,000 pace with a 1:54.1 triumph.

Joe and JoAnn Thomson bred and own the altered son of JK Outlaw-Jennys Money, now two for three in 2011. Bergerac (Ron Pierce) played bridesmaid in the field of eight pacers with Mattgician (Tony Morgan) third.

In the second part of the co-feature, A Badlands Special and Ross Wolfenden stormed down the lane to notch a 1:54.3 victory. Kelly Moore and Kyle Walters own the Badlands Hanover-J’s Special gelding trained by Eddie Moore. Perfect Gentleman (George Dennis) closed with a rush to finish second. Cal Expo
Conditioned trotters, racing for a purse of $4,500, were featured at Cal Expo on Thursday night, in which Big Baller repeated. Leaving, as did Franks Best (Lemoyne Svendsen) who accelerated from post two, driver Steve Desomer and his charge found themselves three-wide the first eighth of a mile. Now forced to race Franks Best who went on at the quarter-mile pole, timed in :28.3, Big Baller wouldn’t clear to the front until approaching the three-eighths marker. Slowing down the pace once on the lead, Desomer and his gelding reached the half-mile juncture in :59.4. With the field now at the three-quarter pole in 1:29.3, and with Franks Best taking a parked-out lead past that station, Desomer was feeling better than you’d think. Reclaiming the lead with an eighth of a mile to go while not being asked, Desomer would only have to resort to a few minor late urges with the race wrapped up. Bred and owned by the Desomer Stables, the Vickie Desomer trained 4-year-old won ($5.40) by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:57.4, a lifetime best. Franks Best finished in second and Berkshire (Steve Wiseman) finished 1-1/4 lengths farther back in third.
