Fort Washington, MD – P T Stable’s Rebellious took advantage of a pocket trip and emerged up the open stretch to collar pacesetter Leonard’s Legacy to score the 86th win of his career in Monday’s (Nov. 17) $12,000 Open Handicap Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.

William Carter secured a pocket ride for Rebellious behind Leonard’s Legacy (driven by Tim Deaton) through a sharp :26.2 first quarter, and the pair drafted closely behind middle splits of :55.4 and 1:23.3. After Leonard’s Legacy turned aside a first-over bid from 1-2 favorite Sheer Terror (Jonathan Roberts) turning for home, Carter cut Rebellious loose up the open stretch, and the 11-year-old Mach Three-Winbak Pam gelding accelerated to defeat Leonard’s Legacy by a quarter-length in 1:51.4. Sheer Terror finished two lengths farther back in third.
Bryson Dunning trains Rebellious, who paid $21 to win as the 9-1 third choice.
Russell Foster led all drivers with three wins on the 13-race card; Eric Davis, Roger Plante Jr. and Roberts all scored doubles.
When live racing resumes at Rosecroft on Thursday (Nov. 20), there will be two carryovers: $187.97 in the Pick-5 (races 3-7) and $1,152.15 in the Jackpot Hi-5 (race 10). First post is 7:15 p.m. (EST). For more information, including free past performance pages, the Players’ Guide tip sheet, and live and archived video, visit www.rosecroft.com.
