Crete, IL — Players across North America will get a big reason to play at Balmoral Park’s one mile oval on Wednesday (September 28). Waiting for them is a record Pick-4 carryover of $20,543 which will be added in to the pool. The Pick-4 pool will be estimated at $75,000 and based on the previous record last year it could go well beyond that.
On September 19, 2010, a then record carryover total of $19,125 was added to the Pick-4 that evening. When all bets were tabulated, an additional $85,629 was wagered making the final Pick-4 pool $104,754. That established the all-time Pick-4 record at Balmoral Park which still stands today.
First post at Balmoral Park is 7:10 p.m. (CDT). The Pick-4 is always on the final four races and will begin with race seven on Wednesday. The Pick-4 is guaranteed every racing night and because of the record carryover, the guarantee for this Wednesday has been raised to $50,000. The scheduled post time for the start of the Pick-4 will be 9:15 p.m. (CDT). Click here to view the Wednesday program pages.
September has seen the Balmoral Pick-4 again rise to historic levels. The average pool this month will be around $30,000, a level nobody dreamed possible when the takeout was dropped to 15 percent last year following a Pick-4 average of just over $8,800 in 2009 at the old 25 percent rate.
