EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Hall of Fame driver Ray Remmen guided Bar Exam [$20.20, $7.60, $5.40] to a neck victory over Hurri Kane Billy G [$5.80, $4.80] in the second race, a $25,600 New Jersey Sire Stakes, on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.
The Mighty Mr K [$19.60] set the pace but faded to third, a length and three-quarters back.

Enflammatory, driven by Brian Sears and trained by Trond Smedshammer, recorded his first win in five starts this year in the second NJSS division.
Bar Exam split horses to get up in the final strides for his second win in five starts this year. The three-year-old son of Self Possessed, owned by James A. Petruccelli of Haledon, New Jersey, trotted the mile in 1:55 flat. Remmen and his brother, Larry, are the colt’s trainers.
Remmen, making only his fourth driving start of the meet, holds the distinction of being one of only three drivers [with Cat Manzi and Jim Doherty] who have driven a winner every year since the Meadowlands opened in 1976.
In two other New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions, winning efforts were turned in by Enflammatory and Real Leader.
Enflammatory [$4.60, $2.80, $2.20], driven by Brian Sears and trained by Trond Smedshammer, caught Beissinger Hanover [$3.40, $2.80] in the last eighth of a mile to win in 1:56.2. Face Off [$3.20] got up for third, two and a half lengths back.

Real Leader caught Show Me The Monet for a half-length victory in the $25,600 third division of the New Jersey Sire Stakes.
The victory was the first in five starts this year for Enflammatory who also has two seconds and two thirds to his credit. He was unraced at two. The son of Enjoy Lavec races for the American Viking Racing Stable of Allentown, New Jersey; Patricia Spinelli of Oyster Bay Cove, New York; Martha Frank of Fair Lawn, New Jersey and Ted Gewertz of New York, New York.
Longshot Real Leader [$42.40, $20.20, $8.00], driven by Stephen Smith and trained by Karen Garland, caught Show Me The Monet [$5.40, $3.20] for a half-length victory in the $25,600 third division of the New Jersey Sire Stakes, carded as the fifth race. Jailhouse Joey [$2.4-] was third by three-quarters of a length.
Real Leader, owned by the C&I Siegel Racing Stable Ltd. of Staten Island, New York, trotted the mile in a lifetime best of 1:55.3.
