Columbus, OH — Incumbent USTA membership director Royal Roland of Grinnell, Iowa, has been re-elected to a three-year term in District 4A. In addition to Iowa, the sprawling district includes Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
As certified by the accounting firm of Plante & Moran, LLC, Roland garnered 95 votes, outpacing challengers Mary Carey-Kilburg (34 votes) and Dr. Marcia Harmelink (20 votes). The election concluded on Tuesday (Dec. 10), but additional time was allocated to count any late-arriving ballots that were postmarked on or before the Dec. 10 deadline.
Mr. Roland will commence his new term with the seating of the directors at the next annual USTA board meeting, which is scheduled to take place from March 7-9, 2025, at the Hilton Columbus at Easton in Columbus, Ohio.
