Ronnie Wrenn Jr. notches 7,000th career win Monday at MGM Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Ronnie Wrenn Jr. made his 7,000th trip to the winner’s circle after scoring with Just Bookem in MGM Northfield Park’s fifth race on Monday (Oct. 3).

Just Bookem was the race favorite and won by 1-1/2 lengths over King Corona (Billy Davis Jr.), returning $3.60 to win. The 1:52.1 clocking was the 32nd career win for the 7-year-old gelded pacer, who now has $258,986 in earnings.

The 36-year-old Wrenn began driving in 2008. His 7,000 wins have helped him garner nearly $51.5 million in purse earnings.

Wrenn earned his first win behind Artful Power in a $1,400 Billings race at a Michigan fair in 2008. His breakout year was 2012, when he posted $1.5 million in purse earnings and he has never looked back. Wrenn is consistently among the top drivers in the country. He won the 2013 and 2014 national dash driving titles, finished third in 2015 and 2016, fifth in 2017, second in 2018, fourth in 2019, second in 2020 and was third in 2021.
