Rose Run Xplosion wires Dayton rivals; Jack Wacker upsets to force Pick-5 carryover

Dayton, OH — Rose Run Xplosion took the $17,000 featured conditioned claiming event on Wednesday (Oct. 4) at Hollywood Dayton Raceway.

Leaving from post five, Rose Run Xplosion went wire-to-wire through fractions of :27.1, :55.4 and 1:23.3 to score the fastest mile of the night in 1:51.2. Rose Run Xplosion paid $5.80 to win for trainer Phil Belanger and attributed to a driving double for Chris Page.

Jack Wacker, dismissed at 20-1, split through horses in time to win the first leg of the night’s Pick-5 sequence and prompt the bet to go without a winner for a second straight card. As no winning tickets were sold for the Pick-5, $12,815 will be carried over into the Thursday (Oct. 5) card of racing. The Pick-5, which comprises races 2-6, will have a guaranteed pool of $25,000.
