Fort Washington, MD – Rosecroft Raceway, in partnership with the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, is proud to announce the 2026 “Spring Fever” $10,000 Claiming Series. This late-closing event offers horsemen a structured four-week competition with escalating purses, culminating in a series final.
Series Schedule and Purses
The series features three preliminary legs followed by a final:
- 1st Leg: April 6 – $7,500 purse
- 2nd Leg: April 13 – $8,500 purse
- 3rd Leg: April 20 – $9,500 purse
- Final: April 27 – $11,000 added purse (non-claiming)
Eligibility and Point System
To be eligible for the $11,000-added final, horses must compete in all three preliminary legs. All races will be contested at a one-mile distance. Horses will earn points based on finishing position: 75 points for first, 50 for second, and 37 for third.
Claiming Rules and Fees
The claiming price is set at $10,000 and will remain constant throughout the duration of the series. However, successful claimants are required to pay an additional “claiming fee” that is added directly to the purse of the final:
- 1st Leg Claiming Fee: $500
- 2nd Leg Claiming Fee: $750
- 3rd Leg Claiming Fee: $1,000
While horses are eligible to be claimed during any of the three preliminary legs, the final on April 27 is a non-claiming event.
Deadlines and Nominations
The nominating fee for the series is $100. Nomination and claim authorization forms must be submitted by March 30.
