Columbus, OH — Ruel “Dude” Goodblood, 69, died Nov. 18, 2024, in Burnham, Maine.
Mr. Goodblood was active in the Standardbred industry as an owner, trainer and driver, competing primarily in New England and New York. He amassed 4,538 driving wins and total purse earnings of $8.8 million. Among his favorite horses were Theater Production, Beach Barbie, JT’s Fortyniner and How Forever Feels.
Away from the races, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in northern Maine.
Mr. Goodblood is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Magnuson (Peter); grandchildren, Peter and Kingsley; and sister, Kelly (Lance). He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda (Karl).
As per his wishes, there will be no services.
