Rutgers Giving Day is June 17

Manalapan, NJ — Wednesday (June 17) is Rutgers Equine Science Center’s annual Giving Day Fundraiser.

This year the Equine Science Center is excited to announce a brand new research project that you can help us with. With New Jersey celebrating the “Month of the Horse” in June, the Equine Science Center thought what a better way to participate in the festivities than to kick-off fundraising for our Equine Science Research Fund. This fund will help to support projects like their upcoming Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies for veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

This includes investigating the horse/human bond, and how EAAT affects both humans and horses during these types of therapy sessions. This will be the first time research conducted with EAAT will measure the same physiological marker of stress and well-being simultaneously in both horses and veterans. The proposed project is an eight-week research trial that will examine equine and human health in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, specifically within the New Jersey population.

Today your gift will make an even greater impact as the first $10,000 will be matched by UMG Properties Inc., on behalf of Rutgers University Board Member for Equine Advancement, Sam Landy.

Donating is easy through this link.

Thank you for your support.
