Hamburg, NY — It was a clear, crisp afternoon at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday (April 30), and it was a perfect time for Scenic Adventure to take an easy stroll over the half-mile oval. She enjoyed the daytime journey with a confident 1-1/2-length, 1:56.3 score over Mary Kat in the featured $11,000 pace for fillies and mares.
Scenic Adventure ($6.30) let things settle down early as American Jazz took early command. But once everyone found a spot in line, she buzzed to the outside from third and took over the lead, hitting the quarter in :28.2. From there, it was nothing but fresh air in front of Scenic Adventure and driver Jim Morrill Jr. as the pair stepped off snappy fractions of :57.4 and 1:26.4. Enjoying a two-length lead turning for home, Scenic Adventure had timid threats late from Mary Kat (Joseph Chindano Jr.) and Summer Slash (Ray Fisher Jr.), but they finished in second and third place, respectively.

It was the second victory in 11 outings this season for the 5-year-old Scenic Adventure (Racing Hill-Adventurepan), who is owned by Michael Torcello and trained by Samuel Smith. The win upped her seasonal bankroll to $18,250 and to $115,903 lifetime.
Kevin Cummings showed the way for the drivers during the afternoon with four victories while Chindano had two.
Racing will resume on Friday afternoon (May 2) at 2:30 p.m. with a 11-race program set.
