Monticello, NY — Alan “Bermuda” Schwartz and Cory “the Tennage Terror” Stratton each won their respective divisions of the second leg of the Catskill Amateur Drivers Club’s pacing series at Monticello Raceway on Thursday, May 27.

Though Schwartz has been racing a small stable at the Mighty M against professionals for many years, he is still is a card- carrying amateur driver.

A confident Alan Schwartz guided Tymal Camocha to a two length triumph.

In his split he jumped up behind Robert Costello and Dave Knightes’ Tymal Camocha and guided the veteran Camluck gelding to a wire-to-wire, two length triumph in 1:59 over Trot West Bandit, who had 17-year-old Cory “The Teenage Terror” Stratton at the controls. “Cowboy Eric” Taddeo, a New York City fireman by trade, took home the show dough with Admiral’s Choice.

Young Stratton, who has also been competing successfully in the Billings Series this year, notched a victory of his own when he guided Ricky Maher, Jr.’s Mr Touring to a seven length victory in a time of 1:59.3 in the other CADC event.

After settling down in fourth place in the early going, Stratton moved Mr Touring past the half and they zoomed to the lead and opened up ten lengths on the field as they passed the three-quarters. From there they coasted to an easy victory over HR Sherry’s Jin Jin, driven by Douglas “Goose” Gosney. Benzorama finished third for Dave “Steady As” Yarock.

The third leg of the series is slated at Monticello Raceway on Thursday, June 10.
